Frequently Asked Questions

Top questions local business owners ask before signing up.

We refuse to deliver more recycling. We deliver results. Every concern below is something a real Clovis, Sanger, or Selma business owner brought up — and every one has a clear, honest answer.

The five questions we hear most.

No marketing fluff. Just the objections local service businesses raise on the call, and the reasons they sign anyway.

Front at $1,249 and Back at $799 sounds expensive — isn’t a $99 Valpak cheaper?

On the surface, yes. Run the math the way your accountant would. Our Clovis front spot delivers your ad to 30,000 affluent homeowner households in 93619; Sanger and Selma front spots deliver to 5,000 each. That works out to roughly four cents per impression on the Clovis front — far below what you’d pay for a Facebook impression, a billboard panel, or even a single Valpak envelope stuffed with two dozen of your competitors. Valpak is also a shared coupon book that gets thrown out the same day. AdSlate is a thick, glossy 14pt cardstock mini-billboard that sits on a refrigerator or a counter for months. And if no one scans your QR code, our founder donates 100% of your ad cost to the charity of your choice. The cheaper option is rarely the cheaper option.

How does this actually perform compared to Valpak or coupon mailers I’ve used before?

Coupon mailers are undifferentiated, untargeted, and unmeasurable. You pay roughly the same as every other business, you appear next to every other business, and you have no idea whether a single recipient acted on your offer. AdSlate flips every one of those. Targeting: zoned to affluent single-family households in Clovis 93619, Sanger, and Selma — not blanket mailing routes. Differentiation: one business per category per card, so you are the only roofer, only realtor, only landscaper a homeowner sees that week. Quality: heavy 14pt UV gloss cardstock built to be kept, not tossed. Measurability: every ad ships with its own trackable QR code — a number we can share with you after the drop. We refuse to deliver more recycling. We deliver results.

What does “category exclusivity” actually mean — and what stops my competitor from buying the same spot?

Category exclusivity means exactly what it says: only one business per category per mailing. If you’re the roofer on the Clovis front card, no other roofer can buy a spot on that same mailing — front or back. Capacity is intentionally tight: 5 front + 10 back spots in Clovis, and 4 front + 8 back spots in Sanger and Selma, distributed across roughly 34 distinct business categories. Once a category sells out for the next print run, every remaining business in that category is locked out — even if they call the next day and try to jump in. That is the entire reason this card works. Your category is yours, until you decide to give it up.

What is the timeline from signing up to mail actually hitting homes?

Here is the sequence, start to mailbox. (1) You pick your category and place your order through Stripe — front or back, Clovis / Sanger / Selma. (2) You’re redirected to our short post-payment intake form, where you give us your logo, business name, tagline, contact info, and any offer you want featured. (3) Our design team lays out your ad directly on the 12″ × 8″ Elite Mini Billboard and sends you a proof, usually within a few business days. (4) After approval, the full card is sent to commercial print on heavy 14pt glossy cardstock. (5) The mailing is handed to USPS for carrier-route drop to the zoned households. From payment to in-mailbox is generally a few weeks, and we share a confirmed delivery window before the print run starts — so you can plan around it.

What do I, the business owner, actually have to supply?

Less than you think. The short list: your logo (PNG or SVG is ideal — we can clean up a low-res version if that’s all you have), your business name, a short tagline or offer you want featured (a seasonal promo, a free estimate, a contact call-to-action — whatever you want the homeowner to do next), and contact info (phone, website, the landing page or form you want the QR code to point at). That is the entire input list. We handle the layout, the proofing, the print coordination, the USPS drop, and the tracking dashboard on the back end. If you don’t have a designer or a copywriter on staff, that is the entire point — you don’t need one.
